Cinematic Odyssey

 

Welcome to Cinema Collector's Shop "Cinematic Odyssey".
Before introducing this site, Here is a old Japanese idiom.

 

　”Past pestle handle I used to get.”  (Pronounced: Mukashi Totta Kinezuka)

​

That means "the old habits I acquired long ago," but it's saying that refers to skills or expertise gained long time ago that are still sharp and useful today. 

​

　”Past Kinema Junpo I used to get.”  (Pronounced: Mukashi Totta Kine-Jun)

​

This is a coined joke that is a variation of the above idiom.

This literally translates to "The Kinema Junpo (a famous Japanese film magazine) I used to subscribe to " It refers to a deep, long-standing connection and knowledge of cinema, compressing a passion for classic films and film history, much like my store’s roots.

 

"Cinematic Odyssey" was founded by graduates of the film club from Okayama University, and this phrase embodies the idea that my lifelong passion and deep knowledge of cinema are still very much alive and guide my unique selection of movie goods. I still got that magic touch from many years ago.
